Well, so finals are over, so I have more time to do what I want. Sorry for the lack of a post last night and today afternoon, I was too busy to make one. This post probably won't be as long as the other two, but I'll do my best to be entertaining.
So today I wanted to talk about something that is a big deal and people are still currently facing its effects. I am, of course, talking about the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This post really isn't a rant meant to make you laugh with my stupidity, it's a serious post with a serious topic I've seen happening that I want to address. This earthquake was a very large quake, even for Japan, who lies right on the Ring of Fire (Google it if you don't know what it is) and gets these quakes all the time. It has destroyed Japan's economy, killed many people and injured an equal number, and left many citizens homeless. And around me, I see a lot of my friends making fun of Japan. I don't mean the country, I'm sure all of us say racist jokes to each other about all races (and if you don't, good for you, it's not a very good habit of ours), I mean the event and their current state. They are actually laughing at this. They don't even care that the nation is in shambles, and it's current state is like, and worse than, post-Katrina New Orleans. They don't even care about Japan's dead, injured, and homeless citizens. Well, here's my way of showing you. I'm sure that people have said this to each other, but I'm serious about it. And I admit I didn't create this form of showing the truth, but I find it effective. All right, let's say your home country got hit by an earthquake. There was also a tsunami caused by the earthquake, ramming into the same country as well. You are on the other side of the world when you get the news. You have friends, family, and others in the country. They could be dead. Injured. And you have no idea. Telephone lines are down, so you have no methods of communication with them to see if they're all right. So all you can do is stand in fear as you wait for some form of communication to spring back up. Thousands of people in the United States have to go through this right now. And you're just laughing at them. And to all of you that do this that are reading this, do me a favor and have a heart, will you? Feel something for them besides cruelty. Because making fun of them in a time like this? That's just cruel. Please, show some form of support for Japan. I have a friend in Japan. He was one of my best friends in elementary school. He moved there in 5th grade. I miss him a lot, and I'm worried about him. Although I haven't talked to him in three years, because he never replied, I still try to get in touch with him. I need to know if he's all right. if you have friends or family in Japan, or know someone in pain because of fear, or just care about Japan because you're kind-hearted, show it. Do something to help. If all of us do just one thing to help, then I think we could get Japan back on its feet really quickly. Please, help them out.
So yeah. It was a rant I guess. But I really meant what I said. I'll try to come up with a funny rant tomorrow. But please, read this, show it to your friends, and make a difference.
Anyone can help change the world. If we all help, we can make a big difference and hopefully save a couple lives in the process. And now I need to think of something I can do for Japan. I'll involve some friends I'm this too I guess. If you wanna help and you personally know me, you know how to contact me. Thanks for reading, everyone, and stay tuned for more, even though I'm not a radio host.
